White Paper Summary

Zeosoft Mobile Platform Turns Handhelds Into Servers

Summit Strategies' white paper provides an overview of Zeosoft's technology, where it fits in the broader landscape of mobile application development, and various potential use cases. It looks at the mobile-solutions marketplace and it includes Summit's observations about Zeosoft's potential and the role its mobile technology might play in helping companies become more dynamic and efficient.

Summit Strategies defines Virtualization, Web Services and Mobility as three of the most important trends in computing today. Summit explains how Zeosoft Technology Group is carving out a niche at the intersection of these three key trends with its innovative platform for on-demand mobile applications. It further discusses Zeosoft's virtualization model - its use of Java and software 'containers' that hold both application and its supporting services. It also looks at Zeosoft's platform similarities to Web services and service-oriented architectures (SOAs), such as its open-standards foundation and component development model. In addition, Summit points out Zeosoft's key differentiator in application components - its ability to provide not just business-logic components but complete, small-footprint applications that can function independently. According to Summit, "Such applications can help companies use IT systems to enhance, rather than inhibit, their business processes, which is a key goal of the 'dynamic computing'."

Summit describes several working scenarios on how Zeosoft's solutions can be used among first responders, service technicians, personal medical management and sales force management. It provides details on Zeosoft's ZeoSphere XR, a platform that allows any Java-enabled device to function as a server; Mobile AppBuilder, which allows non-programmers to rapidly create lightweight database applications; and an overview of the company's broad range of business, public-sector and wireless industry prototypes.

Summit Strategies points to globalization and accelerating competition as two forces driving the mobile-solutions market. Summit discusses the needs of organizations today and Zeosoft's position to support those needs, as well as its ability to leverage industry-wide trends towards mobility and dynamic computing.
